Hamilton County Inmate Lookup Tools
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office provides two public inmate lookup tools. The first is at hamiltoncounty.in.gov/609/Lookup-Current-Inmates, which lets you browse or search the jail roster by name or housing location. Each record shows the person's name, gender, SPN (Subject Personal Number), scheduled release date, mugshot, charge descriptions, offense dates, arresting agency, and docket number. You can click through to see an enlarged mugshot and additional case details.
The second tool is at secure2.hamiltoncounty.in.gov/inmates2/Jail, which displays the current inmates list with name, subject number, booking number, in-custody status, and booking date ranges. Clicking into a record shows demographic information, housing facility, total bond amount, total bail, booking origin, and bond number. Both tools are free and update as new bookings occur, giving you two ways to search the same underlying data.
All Hamilton County recent arrests are public under IC 5-14-3-3. The sheriff's office is at 18100 Cumberland Road, Noblesville, IN 46060. Main phone is 317-773-1872. Jail phone is 317-776-9800. Note: The county website specifically warns that they do NOT accept cryptocurrency for bond payments, and that requests to pay bond in crypto are a common scam targeting families of newly arrested people.

Hamilton County Current Inmates List
The second inmate search tool at secure2.hamiltoncounty.in.gov provides a list view of all current inmates with a different set of data fields. It is useful when the first tool does not return a result or when you want to verify information across both systems. The data shown includes the subject number, booking number, in-custody status, booking from and to dates, housing facility, and gender. Clicking into any record adds demographic details and financial information such as total bond and bail amounts.
The Hamilton County Jail opened in 1993 and has been renovated and expanded several times since then, most recently in 2019. The current setup includes the 440-bed main facility plus a 112-bed female annex. Average daily population runs around 384 inmates. The jail commander is Josh Carey, and general jail questions can be directed to Jail.Suggestions@hamiltoncounty.in.gov.
IC 36-2-13-5 requires the county sheriff to maintain and share accurate records of who is held in county custody. The two-portal approach Hamilton County uses is one of the more thorough implementations of that requirement among Indiana counties. Each portal provides overlapping but distinct data fields, giving the public more than one way to verify custody status and booking details.
Below is a screenshot of the second Hamilton County inmate portal, which shows the current inmates list with booking numbers, subject numbers, and housing facility information.
Both inmate lookup tools on the Hamilton County Sheriff site are free and public. Cross-check results between the two portals for the most complete picture of a recent arrest.
Note: The Hamilton County Sheriff site warns against bond payment scams involving cryptocurrency. Only use official payment channels listed on the county website.

Hamilton County Court Records via MyCase
Criminal cases arising from Hamilton County arrests are filed with the Hamilton Circuit Court or one of the Hamilton Superior Courts in Noblesville. Indiana's MyCase portal at public.courts.in.gov/mycase makes those records free to search. Look up cases by defendant name or case number to find charges, hearing schedules, case status, and public documents filed with the court.
MyCase is updated regularly and typically reflects new filings within a few days. Hamilton County sees a higher volume of criminal case filings than most Indiana counties given its large and growing population. That means the database for Hamilton County is more active than many, and search results can return multiple cases for common names. Using a date of birth or case number narrows results when searching for a specific recent arrest.
IC 5-14-3-4 provides limited exceptions to public access, but standard criminal case data, including charges, case status, and hearing dates, is almost always available. The Hamilton County Clerk's office at 317-776-9629 can help with records that are not visible online or that require certified copies.
